COME SHAKE OUT YOUR STRESS...
No judgement. no pressure. just wiggling
WHAT IS FLOW DOWN?
Like Zumba, Flow Down is a fast and fun dance exercise class. Although you will be guided through set routines, it isn't about 'getting it right'. It's about moving through your inhibitions, finding your own groove and getting fit without even realising it.
A quick shimmy

Flow Down classes only last 45 minutes so they can squeeze into tight schedules while giving you a joyful, full body workout that leaves you feeling energised, slightly flushed and very smug.
no drama
A lot of the music we most enjoy wiggling to might not feel quite so fun if we listen too closely to the words. In Flow Down, offensive lyrics in any language are avoided.
If you feel something has been overlooked, please speak up!

In a Flow Down class, you will dance to music from many cultures. You are invited to celebrate the roots of these incredible rhythms and a nod of thanks and some context will always be offered in the class or here on the website.

Appreciation
a safe space
To keep the body safe, every Flow Down class includes a thorough warm up and yoga inspired cool down.
To keep your ‘joy’ safe, you are invited to wiggle your own way. An environment free of judgement or pressure.

This means that all profits* go to organisations that are run by and that benefit people in the global south.
This year (2024), profits will be sent to the Compassion Teenage Mothers, run by the wonderful Lilian Muthui.
*What is the definition of ‘profits’?
From https://www.xero.com/us/glossary/profit/:
Profit is the money you have left after paying for business expenses. There are three main types of profit: gross profit, operating and net profit.
Gross profit is biggest. It shows what money was left after paying for the goods and services sold. Operating profit is next. It shows what's left after also paying operating costs such as rent, electricity, phones and in some cases staff.
Net profit comes last. It shows what you made after deducting all costs and tax. You get to hold onto net profit.
The net profits are what will be ‘Redistributed’
Flow Down Instructors are paid no more than 2.5 times the current UK living wage per class.
